Buy a domain inside ColibriOS

Search for a web address, pay for it in ColibriOS, and your website goes live on it by itself.

You can buy your own web address (like yourstudio.com) without leaving ColibriOS. There are no settings to copy anywhere: once you pay, ColibriOS connects it to your website for you.

Steps

  1. Open Website > Domain.
  2. Press Get a new domain.
  3. Type the name you want and press Search. Leave the ending off and .com is checked first.
  4. Press Choose next to a name that is free. The yearly price shows beside it.
  5. Check Who owns this domain. It is filled in from your business details. Fix anything that is wrong and press Continue.
  6. Pick your email: A mailbox from ColibriOS, I want Google Workspace, or No email yet. Press Continue.
  7. Review and press Pay and set up my domain. You pay on a secure Stripe page and come straight back.
  8. Watch the checklist: Registering, Pointing it at your site, Adding it to your site, Securing it, and Setting up email records. It usually takes under 10 minutes. You can leave the page; we email you when it is live.

Good to know

  • A domain of your own is part of ColibriOS Pro. See pricing.
  • Only the workspace owner can buy or change a domain.
  • You need your free Colibri address first. See Your free site address. It keeps working after your domain is live.
  • After you pay, the domain registry sends one email asking you to confirm your details. Click its link within 15 days, or the domain is paused.
  • Your name and address are kept out of the public domain directory. Privacy protection is included.
  • The domain renews every year on the card on file. The Renew automatically switch and Manage payment are on the Domain tab. Your billing page (Settings, then Billing & cancellation) shows it too.
  • “Securing it” is the slowest step, up to 20 minutes.
  • If something shows Needs attention, press Try again. You are never charged twice.
  • If someone else registered the name in the same minute, your payment is refunded in full.
  • Closed the payment page early? Nothing was charged and the name is not held. Press Pay now or Choose a different name.
  • A mailbox from ColibriOS is a separate monthly charge. You pick the address (hello@, your name@) right after the domain is live, and the password is shown once, so save it.
  • Want to move the domain somewhere else one day? Write to Support and we unlock it for transfer.
  • Once the domain shows Live, every link ColibriOS hands out uses it on its own. There is no setting to change.
