Profit and other reports
See what your business earned and spent, what each gathering made, and the numbers your tax forms ask for.
Reports turns your invoices, payments, expenses and bank activity into ready-made reports. Every report can be downloaded as a spreadsheet or printed as a PDF.
Run a report
- Open Money > Reports.
- Click the report you want in the row of tabs at the top.
- Set the From and To dates.
- Press CSV for a spreadsheet, or Print / PDF for a printable copy.
The reports
- Revenue: income from your invoices, by period.
- Profit and Loss: what the business earned and spent, with net profit and a month-by-month view. Owner draws, contributions and loans stay out, because they aren’t profit.
- Profit by Gathering: what each retreat, workshop or class made. Paid invoices in; expenses filed against it, staff fees and mileage out.
- Pipeline: your deals and how they’re moving. See Track leads with Pipeline and Reminders.
- Cash Flow: money in and out of your business books. Personal spending from a business account shows as an owner draw.
- Tax Statement: annual revenue, deductible expenses, mileage and estimated tax.
- Schedule C: the year arranged the way the Schedule C tax form asks, line by line, to type in yourself or hand to your accountant.
- Personal: spending, income and more from your personal books. Only the workspace owner sees this tab.
- Gathering Summary, Staff Earnings and Room Utilization: how your gatherings, team and rooms are doing.
- Outstanding Invoices: everything still waiting to be paid.
- Expenses: money out from your business bank accounts plus expenses you typed in.
- Contractors (1099): who you paid as a contractor over the year.
Good to know
- To see a gathering in Profit by Gathering, link expenses to it when you log them (the Linked gathering box on an expense).
- Bank payments without a category still count in Expenses, under “Not categorised yet”. Categorize them in Money > Banking so the report can say what the money went on. See Import your bank statements.
- Transfers between your own accounts aren’t counted as expenses, and nothing is counted twice.
- Reports are a summary of your own numbers. They aren’t tax advice.
- Mark contractors on the Vendors tab in Money > Finances so the 1099 report can add them up.
- For quarterly estimates and a year-end pack for your accountant, see Track taxes.
