Take Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, cash or checks

Show your Zelle, Venmo and Cash App details on your pay page, then record the payment when it arrives.

Some clients would rather pay you directly. Add your Zelle, Venmo or Cash App details, or your own instructions for cash and checks, and they show on your invoice pay page. These payments can’t be charged automatically, so you record each one when the money arrives.

Add your details

  1. Open Settings > Payments.
  2. Find the Manual payments (Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, cash) card.
  3. Fill in any you use: Zelle (your email or phone), Venmo (your @handle) and Cash App (your cashtag).
  4. Under Other instructions, add anything else. For example: “Cash accepted at the door. Checks payable to your business name.”
  5. Press Save manual details.

What your client sees

On the pay page, under the card payment button, an Or pay directly box lists your details and instructions with the invoice number to reference. After paying, they can press a button like I sent it by Venmo (or I’ve paid). You get an email saying they sent it, and if it’s for a booking, their place is held while you check.

Record the payment

  1. When the money shows up in your Zelle, Venmo or Cash App account (or in your hand), open the invoice. You’ll find it in Money > Finances on the Invoices tab.
  2. Press Record payment.
  3. Check the Amount and Date, and pick the Payment method (check, cash, Venmo, Zelle, bank transfer or other). For Cash App, pick other and add a note.
  4. Press Save payment. When the payments add up to the full amount, the invoice is marked paid.

Good to know

  • If the money never arrives, you can cancel their place from the booking or change the invoice status.
  • Recording a payment that’s already covered asks you to confirm, so the same money isn’t counted twice.
  • With no card payments and no manual details, the pay page tells people online payment isn’t set up yet. Connect Stripe as well so clients can choose. See Connect Stripe to take card payments.
  • The “Cash App” in the card payment title is Cash App Pay through Stripe. Your Cash App cashtag here is for people paying you directly.
  • Send an invoice with its pay link: see Send an invoice.
