Set up your community

Turn on your own community space, welcome people in, add channels and share the link.

Your community is a private space for your people: a warm feed, topic channels, and a place to share files. Members sign in with just their email and a 6-digit code. There’s no shared password to hand out.

Turn it on

  1. Open People > Community.
  2. In the Community space card, flip the switch to On.
  3. Write a Welcome message. Members see it at the top of the community. Press Save message.
  4. Copy the Link and share it with your people.

Add members

People who attend a gathering join automatically the day after it ends, and get a welcome email with the link.

To add someone yourself:

  1. On the Members card, press Add member.
  2. Choose One person (a name and email) or Many at once. For many, paste a list with one person per line, a column from a spreadsheet, or the To: line of an email.
  3. Press Add member (or, for a list, the button that counts them, like “Add 12 members”).

No email goes out when you add someone by hand, so send them the link yourself. They sign in with the email you added.

Add channels

Channels are rooms inside your community, like a members-only lounge or a space for one retreat.

  1. On the Channels card, press New channel.
  2. Give it a Name and an optional description.
  3. Under Who can see it, pick Everyone, Paying members, Students of a course or Alumni of an event.
  4. Press Create channel.

Share files

Use the Resources card to upload files every member can download: recordings, guides, recipes, playlists.

Good to know

  • The community is part of ColibriOS Pro. You can set it up first, but members can’t sign in until you upgrade. See pricing.
  • Your community link needs a site address. If you don’t have one yet, set it under Website > Brand kit.
  • When your website is on, the link uses your own address.
  • Anyone already a member is skipped when you paste a list.
  • Archive on a channel hides it from members but keeps its posts. Restore brings it back.
  • Members choose their own email settings: announcements on or off, and a community digest daily, weekly or off.
  • Members can post photos and videos, and heart each other’s posts.
